Welcome to my e-Portfolio.
I go by “Raz.”
A considerable part of my nursing philosophy and values reflects my roots in Asia. I am holistic with my healthcare approach and principles. In difficult situations, I see the silver lining: our culture’s pride is resiliency. I acquired my BSN from Silliman University in the Philippines, one of the prestigious universities in Southeast Asia known for excellence in nursing education. My experiences include medical-surgical nursing, neuro-surgical care, and ambulatory family medicine. I currently work as an RN in a Family Medicine clinic with a Residency program, primarily responsible for triage and nurse visits. Moving to the United States has brought cultural, self, and career enlightenment. It allowed me to experience the advancement of healthcare technology and shaped my ambition to be part of a clinical informatics team.
I pursued and recently completed a Master's in Nursing and Healthcare Informatics from the University of Mary. More than my personal goals, coming from a country that is quite challenged in healthcare technology, especially in informatics, I also want to help and contribute to my country in the future. I want my fellow nurses back home to experience the benefits of information technology so they can focus more on patient care.
